Monday Scene: The Invitation

Hello. Welcome to the “Unfolding” is a pleasure to share energy with you here!

When I work with a client in a clarity session, I use the following poem as one tool in allowing heart whispers to surface.  I share this poem with you here today, because this month there is a surge of energy that is begging us to release old so that we may embrace new..

As you read the following words, may you allow your heart whispers to surface and roam free, flow to the moon, and return a reality.  Your life truly is as magical as you allow it to be!

“The Invitation”

by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me
how old you are.
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me
what planets are
squaring your moon…
I want to know
if you have touched
the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened
by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.

It doesn’t interest me
if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.

I want to know
if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,

It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me
who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me
where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know
what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know
if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like
the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Thank you for sharing energy with me in this space…in this day.  May you feel *Alive*, may your creative juices flow, and may you be inspired to share generously from your heart space with those around you.  Today may you say “I love you” to someone not with words, but with your actions..

Much peace,

    “Love is patient”

It is so wonderful when one can be genuine enough to “risk” being a *fool* for love…yes the adventure of it! No guarantee you will obtain love…but if you do…WOW!

It is so wonderful if *One* is patient enough with another that the *fool* that one see’s in their presence will become their *true love*.

To be honest Joy… of the significant romances that I have had in my life…this is the kind that I have not found. Mindful of the imperfect fool that I am…there may yet still be a person patient enough to love me.

And I should be mindful and patient enough to be able to *see* and understand if a person is “risking” being a fool for me.

Thank you ever so much for sharing.

My love and peace also to you Joy!

    Hi Joy,

Beautiful poem. It is wonderful to feel that we can put ourselves out there without worrying about how we appear to others. I love you are only words, love is demonstrated through your actions ~ thanks for the reminder.

Love this and the book you gifted me with. FYI I had no words of wisdom for your missing post. Just lean into it as you always do. xoxo

Good Friday evening to you Joy.
A beautiful ‘invitation’ and the sentiments bring me back to what truly matters.
It doesn’t interest me – versus I want to know – certainly cuts through the nonsense!
